Pull down and back on the black plastic knob at the rear bottomof the stapler, then slide out the loading bar as far as it will go(doesn't come all the way out). Insert the new staples (type T-50)up through the slot in the bottom of the stapler (easier if gun isupside down) with staple prongs aiming out of bottom of gun, thenslide the loading bar all the way back in until you feel the blackknob click into place. The new staples now are captured (won't fallout of the bottom), and the new string of staples are automaticallypreloaded to feed properly. Brads (proper sized) are loaded thesame way, only along just one side of the slot in the bottom (thereis a picture of a brad on each side of the stapler showing whichside is the proper side to locate when loading). The loading barcaptures and feeds the string of brads just like the staples.
